A little over a week ago we heardAmy Adamswas in the process of considering atrio of different roles. Now we have word on her officially joining at least one of the previously reported projects asEWreports she has chosen to star inThe Muppets(apparently this is the working title for the time being), the newest film to feature Jim Henson's trademark puppet characters. In addition,Heat Visionalso discoveredChris Cooper(The Town) andRashida Jones(I Love You, Man) will also star alongside star Jason Segel in the film. Below you'll find information on all the characters these new cast members will play in the new film.
The story for this new flick written by Segel and Nicholas Stoller (director ofForgetting Sarah MarshallandGet Him to the Greek) follows a reunion of the Muppets to put on a show in order to save a movie studio. Segel is playing the lead human character with Adams taking the role of his girlfriend who joins him in his quest to gather the Muppets. Meanwhile, Cooper plays a greedy villain who aims to buy the studio just to dig for oil buried underneath it and apparently has never found the Muppet gang to be funny at all. Finally, Jones takes the role of an ABC executive. Hopefully director James Bobin ("Flight of the Conchords") will give the Muppets a triumphant return to the big screen after an eleven year absence followingMuppets from Space.Excited?
