Having previously directed films likeShowgirlsandBasic Instinct, directorPaul Verhoevenis no stranger to the erotic, and it looks like he's headed back to the same sexy territory.Deadlinesays Verhoeven has made a deal to directEternal, a supernatural thriller described asFatal Attraction, but with a"succubus temptress."The idea and script comes fromDavid Lougherywho crafted the sensual thrillerObsessed. Production is slated for next summer, but it's not clear if this will be Verhoeven's next project.
In the story, after a recovering alcoholic stops a woman from jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge, they end up sleeping together and creating quite the spicy love affair. Upon returning home, his wife confronts him along with a private investigator who has photos to catch him in the act. However, the photos only show him alone drinking the night away with his mistress nowhere to be found. Though at first he thinks himself crazy, he discovers that his lover is a ghost who is after his soul. Yep, homeboy fucked a ghost. Sidney Kimmel Entertainment is producing along with A Bigger Boat, Greene Street Films and Sparkler Entertainment.Sound interesting or just plain silly?
